Redmond Invoice Factoring

Redmond Washington was settled by Indian tribes about 400 years ago. By the 1870’s European settlers filed a claim via the Homestead Act for land that was located next to the Sammamish Slough and because there were rivers and streams laden with salmon the settlement was called Salmonberg. By 1881, the name of the community was changed to Melrose and then again in 1883 to Redmond.

The logging industry enabled plenty of jobs for loggers and fishermen creating a demand for goods and services, merchants and community growth and prosperity – something ideal for invoice factoring, which has been around for many centuries. Seattle Lake Shore & Eastern Railway built a station in the center of town in 1889 and by 1912 Redmond was incorporated.

Sadly, there was an economic downturn in the 1920s, as logging diminished, and prohibition forced the saloons to close. Fortunately, the deforested land was suitable for farming.  The good news was that agriculture then became Redmond's primary business during the Great Depression, and after the U.S.

Between 1951 and 1967, the completion of the Evergreen Point Floating Bridge which crossed Lake Washington in 1963 helped the town flourish and by 1978, Redmond was proclaimed the fastest growing city in the state, and again Redmond underwent a growth spurt during the 1990s with the technology boom when Microsoft Corporation made the town its home.

Up from 45,256 in the year 2000, in 2010 the population was 54,144 according to the Census. Redmond is known as the bicycle capital of the Northwest, and the community has a historic downtown with many individually owned businesses. Due to its large population of highly paid technology workers, Redmond became an affluent community with flourishing businesses, many of which find factoring services useful. Redmond ranks 20th of the 522 areas in the state of Washington.
