Bellevue, Washington Ellensburg, Washington Mukilteo, Washington Redmond, Washington Sammamish, Washington Seattle, WashingtonLocated in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States, Seattle has been there for at least 4,000 years. During the mid-1850s the area was inhabited by the Coast Salish peoples now known as the Duwamish Tribe and Suquamish who lived in 13 villages which is now Seattle.
It was a man named George Vancouver who was the first European to visit the Seattle area in May 1792 during a charting expedition of the area. The Great Seattle Fire which tragically took place on June 6, 1889 burned 29 city blocks of wooden and brick buildings. The entire business district, railroad terminals, and all but four of the wharves burned. Seattle rebuilt from the ashes with the assistance of Jacob Furth.
Next there was a lumber-industry boom, and the Klondike gold rush began in 1896, reaching Seattle in 1897 creating a large boom for Seattle. The gold rush led to immigration, which is when Seattle's neighborhoods began to flourish. Next there was a shipbuilding boom during World War I.
City engineer R.H. Thomson played a big role in the development of municipal utilities, and was made to level the steep hills that rose south and north of the city a seawall while a man named Denny Regrade created the current waterfront and Harbor Island.
Following by the Boeing boom, came the high tech boom with Microsoft, Amazon.com, and AT&T Wireless, among many others, who made Seattle their home, and the small businesses began to abound. This is when there was an increase in business owners using accounts receivable factoring became popular, and cash flow enabled more growth.
Microsoft’s sales were over 0 million and by 1995, it was known as the world's most profitable corporation. Seattle became a town of billionaires, another reason why factoring continues to benefit this community.
